Thank you all for your encouragement! ;D Now let's get to it...
Nick walks in and smiling asks Brooke how she’s feeling. Brooke tells him she’s feeling better physically but mentally confused by her memories. Nick says that it’s to be expected but he’s glad to see her on the mend. He tells Brooke that she looks terrific. Brooke laughs and says, “Yeah, I look great with bruises all over my face!” Nick looks her in the eye and tenderly tells her she is still the most beautiful woman he knows. Brooke blushes and looks down for a moment. She lifts her head and asks, “Nick, would you do me a favor?” Nick cautiously answers, “If I can Brooke.” Brooke explains that she is being discharged the day after tomorrow. She asks Nick if he will help her find a place to live. Nick looks shocked and says “But what about…” Brooke says “Ridge.” She goes on to explain her dreams to Nick. How right now all she can remember is disappointment and rejection when she thinks of her husband. Nick murmurs that Ridge certainly dealt her more than her share of that. Brooke hears him and replies that it seems so, at least from what she can remember. She tells Nick that there is just no way she can go live with Ridge right now. She needs to figure things out. She hopes that Ridge will let her take the children, Hope and RJ, but doesn’t know how he’ll take the news that she wants to be alone right now. Brooke says that she thinks the children will help her remember more. Nick tells Brooke that Ridge has no real claim to Hope. Brooke looks puzzled and Nick gently tells her that Deacon is Hope’s father. Brooke looks shocked at this news…how could her daughter’s husband be Hope’s father?? Nick tells her that that is a story for another day but that Brooke should rest easily, things with Bridget are fine now. Brooke relaxes somewhat but still looks rather dazed. She murmurs that what she really she doesn’t understand is why she would have chosen to marry Ridge when… Nick asks, “When what?” Brooke looks uncomfortable for a moment. She tentatively tells Nick she’s been remembering other things… feeling… regarding him… Nick. Nick walks to the window and looks out, trying to hide his feeling of deep hurt. He tells Brooke in a husky voice that “he can’t go there…not now.” He says quietly that seeing her marry Ridge was too painful for him to ignore. Brooke’s eyes tear up and she says that deep down in side he must hate her… she must have hurt him so much. If only she could remember why she made the choice she did. Nick says, “let’s get one thing straight, Brooke, I could never hate you.” He tells her he has to go and walks to the door. Brooke is looking despondent as Nick turns back and smiles. He tells Brooke he has to go evict Megan from her house so Brooke can go home. Brooke whispers, with tears in her eyes, “Home, I don’t know what that is right now.” Nick says softly that he’ll help her find it. He gives Brooke a cocky grin and salute and tells her he’ll be back and he walks out the door. Brooke smiles to herself and salutes the closed door… she whispers to herself …"Help me find home Nick…where the heart is…”

Oh I love it. This is how the show should be. Isn't it awful that the show is so terrible and that we have to make up our own to make it good. I miss the real Brooke and I miss that charming, cocky Nick. I want Bricky back so badly!

Later that day, Nick is on his way to Forrester Creations to tell Megan that Brooke needs her house back when he runs into Deacon. After exchanging hellos, Deacon asks Nick how Brooke is doing. He says, in a disgusted tone, that he tried to get in to see her but Ridge has limited the people she is allowed to see. Nick frowns at that information but says nothing. He tells Deacon that Brooke is doing better and in fact will be discharged day after tomorrow. Deacon says that that’s great news…he’s been trying to see Hope but every time he tries to contact her or go see her Ridge has had some excuse why he can’t see her. Nick is obviously disturbed by Ridge’s controlling behavior. He tells Deacon that he’s sure Brooke will let him see Hope but explains that she doesn’t remember her intimate relationship with Deacon. He explains that, to Brooke, Deacon is Bridget’s husband…former husband. Deacon looks frustrated and says that without Brooke’s support, Ridge may try to keep Hope from him. Nick tells Deacon that he doesn’t think it will be an issue; that Brooke isn’t going home with Ridge. Deacon looks shocked and Nick goes on to briefly say that she isn’t comfortable with Ridge right now; that she doesn’t remember everything clearly. Deacon says softly “Or maybe, just maybe she does.” Nick tells Deacon that Brooke plans to have Hope and RJ come live with her while she sorts things out. Deacon asks Nick if he thinks Ridge will let that happen. Nick says that Ridge has no legal hold on Hope but he doesn’t see Ridge handing over RJ. Deacon agrees and comments that Ridge will use RJ to try to drag Brooke back to him. Deacon is lost in thought for a moment and then curses. He smacks his head and says “Of all the stupid things I’ve done…” Nick is looking intently at Deacon waiting for the rest of the sentence when deacon excuses himself and says he has to go. He thanks Nick for the information and walks away. After a few feet he turns back to Nick and says “Hey Nick, you’re ok. You’ll be a great husband and father one day.” Deacon turns away and continues in a mutter “Maybe sooner than you realize.” Nick who hasn’t heard the Deacon muttering turns to leave with a puzzled look on his face.

Later that evening, Ridge returns to visit Brooke in the hospital. He enters and coolly greets Brooke, still angry about her lack of response to his charms that morning. Brooke returns his cool greeting and asks about the children. Ridge tells her that they are fine; it was their bedtime. Brooke says that she understands and she tells Ridge that she misses them more and more. She has been remembering her children more as the day has worn on and especially the younger ones, Hope and RJ. Ridge says stiffly that the children will be glad to have her home. Brooke tells Ridge that they need to talk about that. She explains that she isn’t comfortable with the idea of returning to their house as his wife…that she has too many unresolved feelings and memories. Ridge asks in an angry voice what that means exactly. Brooke goes on to say that she’s asked Nick to help her find a place to stay until she can sort out her life. Ridge spits out Nick’s name in his anger “Nick!” Why wouldn’t she ask her husband to help? Brooke responds that “her husband” wasn’t exactly receptive this morning. She goes on to say that she knows Nick will help her without making demands on her that she isn’t ready to meet. Ridge responds angrily that she obviously thinks he ® is incapable of helping her in that manner. Brooke remains silent in response. She tells Ridge that she hopes he’ll allow her to have RJ and Hope for a while; that she thinks they may help her remember more quickly. Ridge tells Brooke that the children will NOT be leaving his house and if she wants to see them she’ll have to come home. Brooke says that he has no hold on Hope. Ridge stews for several moments and says that it’s true. She can take Hope but she’ll not have RJ. He belongs with his FATHER. Ridge adds that he belongs with his mother too but only if she decides to come home. Brooke is very pale at Ridge’s comments and tells him that his attitude is not going to help things. She tells Ridge that she is tired and that they should discuss this tomorrow. Ridge says that there is nothing to discuss. He moves to the door and looks back at a despondent Brooke. “This is for your own good, Logan,” Ridge says and walks out the door. Brooke sits alone in the hospital room with quiet tears on her cheeks. It is late and she is exhausted and discouraged by her conversation with Ridge. The phone on her bedside stand rings. She picks it up and hears “Hey Brooke, it’s Nick.” “Nick!” Brooke says breathlessly. “Are you ok?” Nick asks. There is silence for a moment and Brooke answers softly, almost inaudibly, “I am now.” She explains that Ridge was there and things didn’t go well. She told him about not coming home. Nick tells her not to worry. He’ll talk to Ridge or get their Dad to speak with him. Either way, Ridge needs to back off for a while and let Brooke have her space. Brooke points out quickly that she hopes her “friends’ won’t give her too much space…she says that she needs them…him. Nick tells her she’s stuck with him for a while. They are both smiling into the phone when Nick tells Brooke he’ll let her get some sleep and talk to her tomorrow. Brooke says that she’ll look forward to it. Nick is about to hang up when he mentions that he almost forgot to tell her that Megan is moving out and her house will be waiting for her. Brooke thanks Nick again and wishes him pleasant dreams. Nick smiles into the phone and says, “You can bet on it.” They hang up smiling.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Nasty nasty Ridge! I'm so glad Nick is there for Brooke. And he is just being there as a friend even though he loves her. Hmmmmm. Does Deacon know something that can change things?

The next morning Brooke is up and sitting in a chair by the window when Dr. Martin, the shrink, comes in. He and Brooke exchange pleasantries and he asks her how it’s going. Brooke says things are progressing and Dr. Martin asks if she is using her journal. Brooke says yes and asks Dr. Martin if he wants to hear what she’s remembered thus far. He says yes and settles into another chair as Brooke begins listing off memories. She begins by listing off new people and events…she says she remembers a bit about Taylor, Ridge’s first wife. She goes on to say she remembers that she and Ridge plotted to keep Brooke from being with Thorne. And Brooke remembers Taylor plotting with her father to get her away from LA… and almost got her killed. Dr. Martin comments that he remembers their earlier conversation on how Ridge chose Taylor over Brooke on numerous occasions. He asks Brooke how that makes her feel at this moment. Brooke says it makes her angry, makes her feel stupid… and it confuses her most of all because she still married Ridge despite all the disappointments. She goes on to tell Dr. Martin that she remembers moments with Hope and RJ’s birth. She remembers there was the paternity issue. Dr. Martin asks Brooke to elaborate. Brooke says that it is still fuzzy. She thinks she was set to marry Nick because they thought he was the baby’s father. Dr. Martin stops Brooke and asks her if that is the only reason she was marrying Nick. Brooke answers without thinking “Of course not! I love Nick!” She stops and repeats in wonder, “I love Nick.” Still confused by these emotions Brooke explains what she remembers of her wedding to Nick…how Ridge burst in and disrupted her wedding. Then they found out that Nick’s mother had information that there was some problem with the original paternity test. She goes on to tell Dr. Martin that Ridge was with her when the baby was born. They asked the attending obstetrician to perform a paternity test to clarify the issue. She tells him that several hours after the baby was born the doctor confirmed Ridge was the father. Dr. Martin sits straighter in his chair and asks Brooke to repeat what she just told him. She does and he looks contemplative. He then asks Brooke what she knows about paternity tests. Brooke says not much but the first one took almost a week. Dr. Martin says “exactly!…curious…” Brooke asks him what he is implying and Dr. Martin says nothing yet. He asks for the time and date of RJ’s birth so that he can see who was on duty. Brooke tells him and he gets up to go. He tells Brooke that she’s done well with her journal and to keep up the good work. He exits leaving Brooke deep in thought over their conversation.

Dr. Martin leaves Brooke and goes out to check the records for the night RJ was born. He finds the list and pinpoints the attending physician. As he is looking at the list the very physician enters the station. They exchange hellos and he immediately asks her about RJ’s birth. The doctor explains that she was pretty incidental in the birth of the baby… D. Martin asks her about the paternity test. He says he knows she is into genetic research and asks her if she has a new way of determining paternity that is virtually instantaneous rather than the DNA method that take 7-10 days. The doctor knows she has been skunked and evades the question… she tells Dr. Martin that she has no new methods but that she knows that the Forresters were concerned about the baby’s paternity. She alleviated that concern and everyone walked away happy. Dr. martin looks at her and says “not everyone.” He accuses the doctor of playing god and tells her she has 48 hours to make things right or he will. The doctor says that this is ridiculous…that ridge Forrester may well BE that baby’s father. Dr. Martin says that in that case, she should have no problem retesting the boy… the RIGHT way. He reminds he that she has 48 hours and time’s a wastin’. As he turns to leave he tells her he knows about Eric Forrester’s donation… he comments that it’s really all in the family isn’t it? And walks away.
Meanwhile Deacon is meeting with Jackie. He tells her there is something he has to tell her. Jackie tells him to go ahead and he tells her that he loves her… really loves her. He doesn’t know how it happened but it did. From the moment he fell in love with her all he could think about was getting her away from Massimo. He knows she was devoted to the idea of family but knew that she wasn’t whole with Massimo. Jackie asks Deacon what he’s getting at. Deacon tells her again that he had to get her away from Massimo so that she could see what she could be… with him! He loves her… and because he was desperate he did something…. awful… wrong. Jackie asks in a whisper what it was that Deacon did. Deacon, looking away, tells her that he lied about the paternity test. Jackie gasps but he goes on… telling her that he knew if Massimo found out that Jackie with held information he would divorce her. Deacon played on that… intended for it to be found out that Jackie knew there was a discrepancy in the first test. He knew Massimo would leave her when he found out Jackie held back that information. Massimo just had to find out. So Deacon arranged the second test… made Jackie feel guilty about keeping Ridge from his son. Jackie is disgusted and crying…”you bastard!” she says. “Exactly,” Deacon counters…he goes on to tell Jackie that the second test proved that Nick was RJ’s father.. not Ridge. Jackie asks why he lied, why didn’t he tell her. Deacon says he couldn’t have her being the “hero’ in Massimo’s eyes. He was desperate, he loved her…he was wrong. Jackie grabs her purse to leave… she looks back at Deacon and tells him she will never forgive him…he used all of them for his own selfish desires. He’s despicable. Deacon says “yeah… I am.”

hmmm... So did Ridge know about the test or was it just Eric thinking he did it for Brooke happiness??? I hope Ridge was in on it, I don't want him coming off as the victim!

Jackie immediately goes to see Massimo knowing he is going to be upset by the latest developments. She bursts into his office and breathlessly calls out his name. Mass, comes forward to hold her and concerned, asks her what is wrong. Jackie says she has had some disturbing news… from Deacon. Massimo frowns and reminds her that he asked her to stay away from Deacon Sharpe. Jackie says she knows but explains that Deacon sought her out. Massimo asks her what Deacon wanted. Jackie swallows audibly and tells Mass it’s about the baby…little RJ. She goes on to explain about the second paternity test that Deacon had a friend perform. She tells Mass that Deacon lied to her, admitted that he lied to get her away from Massimo. She never suspected that Deacon would fix the second test. She tells him that Deacon claims the baby is not Ridge’s but Nicky’s…they have to tell Nicky! Mass sits down heavily and is quiet for a moment. Massimo says dragging this all up again is going to be painful…that one of his son’s is going to lose no matter what. He looks at Jackie and tells her that one thing is for certain. Deacon couldn’t have been in this alone… that the attending physician announced that Ridge was definitely the father…someone paid her off and he’s going to find out who and why. He looks at Jackie and tells her they need to keep this quiet until he finds out the whole story. He says Brooke and Ridge have enough on their plate at the moment. Jackie exclaims that Nick has a right to know. Massimo agrees but suggests that they pick a more appropriate time… a few days at least. Jackie reluctantly agrees.
Meanwhile, Deacon bursts into Eric’s office at Forrester Creations and tells him he has to speak with him NOW. Eric looks at him coldly and asks him what he wants and tells him to make it quick. Deacon tells Eric the jig is up. Jackie knows about the falsified paternity test…it’s only a matter of time until it’s all out in the open. Eric grabs Deacon by the collar and asks him how Jackie found out. Deacon pushes him off and says he told her. He says that Ridge hasn’t let him see Hope in weeks…he’s had enough. He’s lost Jackie but he’s NOT going to lose his daughter. Eric starts “Why you…” but Deacon cuts him off on the way to the door. He tells Eric he had better come clean because they’ll figure out soon enough who bribed the attending physician. Deacon walks out and Eric is alone. His eyes fill with tears and he whispers, “ Oh Brooke…Ridge… I have failed you.”
Brooke is writing in her journal when her door opens and Stephanie steps into the room. Stephanie says “Hello Brooke,” and asks he how she is feeling. Brook cautiously replies that she is ok and asks Stephanie why she is visiting. Brooke adds that although she doesn’t remember Stephanie that well right now she knows that Stephanie did not care for her. Stephanie looks at Brooke and agrees that they haven’t been best buddies. She goes on to say that Ridge stopped by last night to tell her about Brooke’s decision to live apart for a while. Stephanie wanted Brooke to know that she thinks it’s a very smart decision and if Brooke needs anything, she should let Stephanie know. Brooke looks puzzled but thanks Stephanie for her offer. She tells Stephanie that there is one thing… Stephanie may be able to smooth things with Ridge over RJ. Brooke explains that she thinks time with the children will help her regain her memory faster. Stephanie, always skeptical, tells Brooke she’ll have a word with Ridge but that she shouldn’t count on it. Ridge won’t let his son far from his sight. She says goodbye to Brooke who has fallen deep into thought over the thought of “Ridge’s” son. Something is nagging her but she just can’t place it…..

I can not wait to reunite this baby with his rightful father and I can not wait for Brooke reaction, she only went back to Ridge because of the baby, not because she was still in love with him...........Finally, Ridge is going to get what he deserves

Dr. Martin drops back in to see Brooke later in the day but she is out walking in the courtyard with one of the nurses. Dr. martin leaves a couple of pamphlets about DNA testing on Brooke’s bedside stand and leaves.
Meanwhile Eric goes to see Ridge in his office and finds Stephanie there with him. He expresses relief at finding them together and says they have a problem. Ridge and Stephanie ask what’s wrong and Eric says that Deacon Sharpe is stirring up trouble claiming that RJ is not Ridge’s child. Ridge is infuriated but Eric tells him not to worry. He’s not going to have RJ’s life disrupted…it will take a court order to have anyone bother that baby. Stephanie wonders why Deacon would stir this up… what does he have to gain? Eric states that he is probably jealous of Ridge and is trying to get to Brooke this way. Ridge looks at Eric and says, “No way, Dad, she’s mine and so is that baby. We’ve been through enough! No more!” Stephanie stays quite, deep in thought, wondering if deacon could be right. Eric tells Ridge he should inform Brooke when he sees her tonight. Ridge looks uncomfortable and tells him he isn’t seeing her tonight. He explains that Samantha is coming over to discuss some business and Brooke needs some time to think about how much she’ll miss out on living alone. Stephanie, ever gleeful of a rift between Ridge and Brooke says she thinks distance is a good thing.
Brooke is back in her room after having read both pamphlets. She realizes that a proper test could not have been performed after the baby’s birth and wonders why the doctor would lie. She reaches for the phone and dials Nick’s number. Felicia is at Nick’s preparing a tantalizing dinner for two. She is feeding Nick finger foods trying and just about succeeding in seducing him. Nick is about to grab her for a lip lock when the phone rings. Felicia grabs the phone and says “Hello?” in a husky voice. Brooke is stunned into silence and Felicia again asks “Hello?” Brooke recovers and asks to speak with Nick. Felicia asks “ Brooke?” “Yes, “ Brooke answers. Felicia passes the phone to Nick and runs a finger down his chest mouthing “get rid of her.” Nick gets on the phone and asks Brooke in a cool voice what she wants. Brooke is taken aback by Nick’s coolness and says she’s sorry to interrupt but…” Nick interrupts saying he was just settling in for a tasty dinner. Brooke, catching the undercurrent, tells him again she’s sorry… that it can wait until tomorrow…or whenever…she adds in a hurt tone. She quickly covers and says that she wanted to let him know she’ll take a taxi home tomorrow and thanks him for arranging things. Before Nick can reply she hangs up. “Brooke! damn it!” And hangs up the phone. Felicia comes over and wraps her arms around him saying “Good job! Now where were we… ” She says nibbling his chin. Nick looks at her absently then sets her away from him. He tells Felicia that they should eat…he really is hungry. Felicia pouts some but goes to stir dinner. Nick walks up on deck silently cursing himself for hurting Brooke. He looks up at a star and whispers, “I’ll make it up to you.” He goes inside to eat dinner keeping things cool between him and Felicia for the rest of the evening.
Brooke hangs up the phone feeling utterly alone. She tells herself that she’s not stupid…she knows what Nick and Felicia were about. She picks up the pamphlets and whispers “Please God, please let me not have lost him…
