Over the course of the next few days, Brooke’s condition improves and she comes off life support although she has yet to regain consciousness. The doctor clears family members to visit and encourages them to talk to Brooke in the hopes that it may cause her to awaken. Ridge spends several hours a day with Brooke, telling her touching stories about their past history as husband and wife (on numerous occasions) and stories of her children and then memories at Forrester. Rick visits several times and apologizes to Brooke about his relationship with Caitlin. Somehow he feels that the relationship led to her accident… a thought planted by Ridge. Bridget visits and expresses new guilt over her crush on Ridge. She tells her mother that she can’t leave them.. they need her. Jackie visits and apologizes to Brooke about the baby issue, she only wanted what was best for them all. She reminds Brooke in a whisper that Nicky still needs her. Massimo visits and tells Brooke to hang in there. She is the mother of his grandson and he wants them to be a family. Stephanie visits… says nothing.. just stares at Brooke. Nick visits and sits softly telling her tales of the sea…painting pictures in her mind of lovely sunrises and sunsets. He doesn’t speak of their relationship but simply holds her hand. Finally Eric visits and tells Brooke that he’s always loved her even when she stopped loving him. He mysteriously tells he that everything he has done has been for her happiness. He has tried to give her all her heart’s desires even though he knows he is not one of them. He claims that he made her reconciliation with Ridge possible, that she need to come out of this and get back to her fairy tale life. ….

Brooke remains lifeless for 7 days after the accident. Ridge is visiting her, standing and staring out the window having run out of things to say when Nick walks into the room. Ridge glances over his shoulder at Nick and rudely asks him what he wants. Nick looks Ridge in the eye and tells him that he wants what Ridge wants. Ridge, at the end of his patience from the stress of the entire situation, gets aggressive and steps toward Nick. He asks Nick if Brooke is what Nick wants… if having Brooke is his goal. Nick, still looking Ridge in the eye, says that that’s some fantasy… Nick looks away and pain is reflected in his eyes. He says that Brooke wants Ridge so he needn’t be concerned that Nick will steal her away. Brooke suddenly opens her eyes and stares at the two men. She makes a small noise and the men turn to her. Nick, overcome briefly by emotion, tells Ridge he’ll go for the doctor and leaves the room. Ridge rushes to the bed, grabs Brooke’s hand, and says ‘thank God, you’re back!” The doctor rushes in and approaches Brooke. He asks her how she feels. Brooke says she has a headache. The doctor says that must be an understatement after what she’s been through. She looks frightened for a moment. The doctor takes in her expression and asks her what her name is. She replies that it must be Brooke. That’s what they’ve just called her. He asks her if she knows her full name. Brooke closes her eyes for a few moments. She opens them and whispers, “I don’t know!” The doctor then asks her if she knows what year this is? Brooke again closes her eyes and says, “I don’t know.” Ridge moves in closer and asks Brooke if she knows who he is. She stares at him for a moment, frowns, and then says “no.”

ok.. back from a long weekend at the beach. Since current storylines suck let's go back to my world
Ridge grabs for Brooke’s hand and asks her again if she knows who he is. She looks confused and frightened and whispers that he doesn’t remember him at all. She doesn’t even know him! The doctor moves between Brooke and Ridge and tells her not to worry, give herself some time. The doctor explains to her that she has experienced severe head trauma. He looks at Ridge pointedly and says that a temporary loss of memory is a common result of these types of accidents. Ridge asks what temporary means? The doctor explains that the brain is a funny thing.. a mystery. Most people regain all of their memory, some people only regain bits and pieces while few lose it completely. The doctor tells Brooke that she shouldn’t rush things.. to give herself some time to heal. Ridge asks the doctor what he should tell her children in the meantime. Brooke asks “children? I have children?” The doctor gives Ridge a cutting look and murmurs “so much for NOT rushing things.” Brooke says she wants to see her children, that maybe they will help her remember things. The Doctor reluctantly agrees. Ridge kisses Brooke’s hand, missing how she cringes from his touch, and tells her he will go get them now. Brooke’s eyes become heavy and the doctor tells her to rest. As Ridge leaves the room Nick stops him and asks what is going on. Ridge quickly explains the situation and tells Nick that he’ll be back with Hope and RJ.
Nick enters the room and approaches Brooke’s bed. He gently kisses her forehead and touches her cheek. Brook opens her eyes and sees Nick. She asks him who he is. Nick replies that he is a friend… her good friend. She looks him in the eye and says that she is sorry but she doesn’t remember. Nick says that it’s ok… he can remember for them both for now. Brooke’s eyes droop in exhaustion and Nick says he must go. As Brooke’s eyes close, he again leans down and kisses her forehead. For a moment a dream sequence plays in Brooke’s mind and she flashes back to Nick holding her during the storm and kissing her forehead. As Nick steps away to leave Brooke opens her eyes and calls out for Nick to wait. He returns to her bedside and she says that she remembered… something… a feeling… a kiss… the storm… Nick says, “yes.” She says, “I think I know who you must be”… Nick waits for her to finish… “The feeling… was one of comfort… of coming home… of love… REAL love!” Brooke says. “You must be my true love, “ Brooke whispers. Nick closes his eyes for a moment and murmurs almost inaudibly, “In so many ways.” Brooke’s eyes are going down for the count but she holds out her hand and says “Please stay with me.” She is already asleep as Nick makes his response… “Forever,” he says and pulls up a chair next to the bed.

Awww, great story! Thanks for sharing! One thing about Bell's crappy writing - it inspires so many fanfic writers who know in their hearts that they can pen a storyline a thousand times better than what's playing out onscreen! LOL!

Several hours later Ridge returns to the hospital with Katherine and the children. He has Katherine wait outside Brooke’s room as he goes in. He spies Nick sitting by Brooke’s bedside holding her hand and asks him what the hell he’s still doing there. Nick looks up calmly and explains that she asked him to stay…so he did. Brooke stirs and opens her eyes. She catches sight of Nick and smiles warmly. She sees Ridge and her smile fades at the anger on his face. Nick comments that he thought Ridge was bringing the children. Ridge says that they are in the hall waiting. Nick says he’ll go check on them after giving a questioning look to Brooke. She gives Nick a brave smile and waves him to the door. Ridge bends in and quickly kisses Brooke. He tells her he brought the children. “OUR children, “ he says. Brooke looks at him in confusion and Ridge explains that they are married, that she is his wife. Brooke stammers “But …” remembering her feelings for Nick. Ridge says no “buts.” He tells her he’ll get the children. Meanwhile, Nick is in the hall holding RJ. Deacon walks up with flowers asking about Brooke. Nick says she is awake but about to meet her kids. Deacon says he’ll wait in the waiting room until they are done. He takes a few steps away and then turns back to Nick. He says to Nick “You are a natural dad…I’m sorry things went down like they did.” Nick thanks him and Deacon walks away with a strange look on his face. Ridge comes into the hall and takes RJ from Nick’s arms. Nick offers to carry Hope in and Ridge reluctantly agrees. They walk into the room and Brooke is over come by the sight of the baby without understanding why. She asks to hold him and Ridge places RJ in her arms. She coos down at RJ who smiles at her. She looks up and sees Nick at the foot of the bed holding Hope. Suddenly she flashes back to a scene of Nick holding Hope on their wedding day…of the affection between Nick and Hope and the love shared between all three. Ridge sees her glassy eyes and snaps her out of the flashback but Brooke quickly has another as she glances down at RJ. She sees herself and RJ lying on her bed together, playing. Brooke is quickly over come by emotion and pleads tiredness. She explains that she is feeling things and that things… feelings are jumbled. She needs time alone to sort them out. Ridge and Nick take the children out to a waiting Katherine. Ridge goes to find the doctor for Brooke. Meanwhile, Deacon is in the waiting room with his flowers when Eric arrives with a bouquet as well. Eric looks around to make sure they are alone and asks Deacon heatedly what he is doing there. Eric says he hopes that it is NOT to cause trouble. Deacon asks Eric why he would think he (D) would cause trouble. As long as he gets to spend time with Hope then their “deal” still stands. Eric looks nervous but says between clenched teeth that he is sticking by their agreement… that he is making sure Ridge allows Deacon visitation with Hope. Eric then asks Deacon about Jackie. He’s heard that she is back with Massimo. Deacon tells Eric that he “underestimated” Massimo. He didn’t think Massimo would forgive Jackie for her “lies.” He tells Eric that he’ll handle that situation in time and get her back. Eric looks at deacon and says “Just keep your side of the bargain” and walks away.

Eric approaches the nurses’ station to find water for the flowers he has brought Brooke. It appears deserted but as he turns away a door at the rear of the station opens and the Doctor who delivered Brooke’s baby steps out. She spies Eric and calls out “Eric, Mr. Forrester.” Eric quickly and nervously looks around to see if anyone is close by. The doctor goes on to thank Eric for his very generous donation to her genetic research project. She explains that the money has allowed her to concentrate more on research than delivering babies. She much prefers the research…she looks pointedly at Erik…since it can change so many lives, hopefully for the better. Eric tells the doctor that his donation was anonymous so please don’t bring it up again. The doctor says she understands and then she comments that she saw that Brooke had been in a serious accident. Eric tells her that it’s true but that Brooke can’t remember the details or much about her life at this point. The doctor comments that it could be a good thing just as Nick and Ridge approach them. Ridge is carrying Hope and Nick happens to have RJ in his arms. The doctor gives Nick a strange looks and quickly excuses herself. Ridge explains to Eric that Brook is with the doctor and resting, that she has started to remember a few things. Eric asks if she remembers Ridge and Ridge says “not yet, but she will.”
Meanwhile the doctor has come in to check on Brooke. He tells her that he hears she has had some flashbacks. Brooke tells the doctor that it is true but she is really confused. She says that Ridge is supposed to be her husband but she feels nothing for him and hasn’t even remembered him at all and yet there is Nick. She explains that she has had several flashes of Nick and is remembering feelings for him. Feelings, she explains, that she should be having for her husband, not a man who claims to be a good friend. She doesn’t understand. The doctor, who knows that Brooke had been engaged to Nick at one time, explains that things may not be as simple as they seem. He asks if she remembers anything else and Brooke explains about her brief memory of Hope and RJ. The doctor says that this is good, that things are coming back. He explains to her that she shouldn’t rush things. He also tells her that she may never get all of her memory back and she may have to deal with that as well. He suggests that she start working with a psychiatrist who specializes in head injuries. He can help her sort things through as she begins to remember more. Brooke agrees to this and her eyes begin to droop. The doctor tells her to rest and he’ll arrange for Dr. Martin to stop by later after she rests. The doctor leaves and Brooke closes her eyes and begins to dream……..

And so Brooke slips into a sleep that is filled with dreams and memories. She begins to experience memories of Ridge. She sees them both as they were when they were young. Brooke experiences her crush on Ridge but then remembers that Ridge chose Caroline over her. She moves forward in time and remembers being with Ridge again only to be rejected for Taylor. Brooke flashes forward again to the deception Taylor and Stephanie played on her…her accident in Paris and then Ridge coming to her and protecting her only to push her away yet again when they returned to the US. She then remembers her wedding day and the heartbreak of hearing Ridge and Bridget together. Brooke’s dreams shift in focus to her time with Nick. She sees Nick comforting her, laughing with her, holding her. Brooke sees them together after Ridge has perished in the fire… how tenderly Nick held her…how she reached out to him for his love and comfort. Brooke feels his love for her and Hope and the baby she is expecting. She feels her own love for Nick. …. She sighs in her sleep and falls deeper into a dreamless sleep. Meanwhile, Eric has stepped into Brooke’s room. She is so deep into sleep that she doesn’t stir. Eric places his flowers on her table and approaches her bed. He gently reaches down to touch her cheek. He tells her softly that she deserves to be happy…that he’s done everything in his power to see that she got her hearts desire…. Eric leans down and kisses her forehead and leaves Brooke to her dreams.

Brooke wakes up the next morning to find Dr. Martin, her newly assigned Psychiatrist checking her chart. Seeing her awake, Dr. Martin introduces himself. He sits in a chair next to her bed and asks her how things are going. Brooke says she is remembering…
And that she had some dreams last night but that she is more confused than ever. He asks her to tell him about them and she proceeds to tell him about her memories thus far. She explains that she doesn’t understand why she doesn’t feel anything but friendly toward her husband. The Doctor tells her that it sounds as though she has had a long and often hurtful relationship with her husband. He explains that that kind of history is bound to be difficult to relive as she regains her memory. Brooke mentions that what she remembers is certainly not all roses but why can’t she remember the good feelings she had for Ridge, the romantic feelings. Dr. martin asks Brooke how long she had been pursuing Ridge before she got married. Brooke replies that from what she remembers it was somewhere in her late teens. Dr. Martin asks if she thinks that was a longtime. Brooke responds that it must seem like a life long pursuit to him. Dr. martin says, “Pursuit, yes, that’s exactly what it sounds like.” He tells Brooke to take one step at a time and gives her a journal. He asks her to write down her memories as they come and they will discuss them. He mentions to Brooke that she is scheduled to be discharged the day after tomorrow. Brook looks panicked for a moment. Ridge enters the room and addresses the Doctor by asking him if he has helped his wife remember her husband yet, he’s ready to have her back. Dr, Martin looks coolly at Ridge and tells him that she is remembering but that pushing her in any direction will impede her progress. Ridge says that he’ll be patient as long as she eventually remembers. Dr. Martin reminds Ridge that there is no guarantee. He turns to go and reminds Brooke to use the journal and he’ll see her tomorrow. Brooke thanks him and watches him leave. Ridge takes his seat next to her bed and tells her about the children’s evening. Brooke asks some questions about the children trying to put pieces of the puzzle together. Ridge grabs her hand and tells her he can’t wait to have her home. Brooke pulls her hand away, uncomfortable with his touch. Ridge gets angry with Brooke’s withdrawal and tells her he’ll be back later when she is more responsive. He gets up and Brooke watches him leave, not saying anything to stop him….
A while later Brooke is daydreaming about Nick when he knocks on the door. He peeks around the door and Brooke smiles warmly and asks him to come in, she’s so glad he’s come….. ;D

Isn't it funny how Brooke can only remember the good and safe feeling with Nick..........Your story is like a fairytale and the princess has woken up from a deep sleep and knows who her prince charming is.................Nick Can't wait for more of the story
