Spencer Publications, Bill's Office Five Minutes Later
Bill sat at his desk, going over Allie's plans for Forrester Creations. He was going to announce Allie as his partner tomorrow, and he hoped she was up to it. He was worried about her after that ugly scene with her grandmother, but her resolve seemed to have toughened. His face darkened at the memory of Stephanie cursing her granddaughter and slapping her.
What a BITCH.
His phone buzzed.
Bill: Yes, Susan?
Susan: A Thorne Forrester is here to see you.
As if on cue, Thorne barged in. He was tense and his hair was messy, not the picture of blond old money he usually was.
Bill: Thorne.
Thorne drew a breath.
Thorne: Where is my daughter?
Bill exhaled.
Bill: With a friend.
Thorne: Bull, I've called all her friends, and-
Bill waved his hand.
Bill: She's with an associate of mine. Has she called you?
Thorne: No. I left a message earlier.
Bill: She'll call. I know you are worried about your daughter. I am, too. I am worried about her safety.
Thorne: Excuse me?
Bill rose and walked over to the coffee machine.
Bill: Coffee?
Thorne: I'm good. Just explain to me-
Bill: I don't want your mother gunning for her.
Thorne: My mother.
Bill: I assume that is why you're here.
Thorne: Mother said that she installed bugs in Ridge's office, taped him and Taylor, then gave you the tape.
Bill: That she did. What else did she tell you?
Thorne: That she was going to disown Allie.
Bill raised an eyebrow.
Bill: Did she tell you that she called Allie a "little bitch" and slapped her?
Thorne stared at him.
Bill: I guess not. It was pretty ugly. So Allie is staying with an associate of mine.

Ridge's Office The Same Time
Brooke sat in Ridge's chair, going over the designs from the bedroom line. She had already called ahead and asked Eric if Ridge was going to be in the office, and Eric had informed her that no, Ridge was taking the day off. She guessed Jon and company were looking for a loophole, so her dumb-ass, cheating, no-good husband's presence was not required. She allowed herself a small smirk at the memory of his attempts to be a CEO.
He may be a good designer, but the man was dumber than dirt.
She heard the door open and she shrank down lower, keeping the chair facing the wall. Who the hell was in the office and why were they invading her solitude?
Stephanie: Thank God you're here.
There was sniffling.
Taylor: I almost didn't come. The press has been positively brutal.
Stephanie: That bad, huh?
There was more sniffling.
Taylor: Jarrod actually called me the other woman.
Stephanie gasped.
Stephanie: How DARE he.
Taylor: I think this is revenge because I wouldn't sleep with him.
Stephanie: Of course it is, Honey. That bastard, I should-
Taylor: He is an employee of Spencer Publications, you can't do anything. If only I knew who found out about Ridge and me.
Stephanie: That's what I called you here for. I found out.
Taylor: Was it Brooke? I always knew she was jealous of the bond Ridge and I have, but I never thought she'd do this.
Brooke shook her head. Jealous, indeed.
Stephanie: It was Allie.
Taylor gasped.
Taylor: She wouldn't.
Stephanie: She not only would, but she did.
Taylor: But why? What did I ever do to her?
Stephanie: Nothing, Honey. This is jealousy, plain and simple. But don't worry about her. I slapped her and put her on notice.
Brooke's eyes widened.
Stephanie: She will inherit nothing. She has no place in this family. The trashy, ungrateful-
Brooke spun around in her chair.
Brooke: Well, well.

The Office The Same Time
Stephanie gasped.
Stephanie: What the hell are you doing here?
Brooke: Just looking over my notes on the bedroom line.
Stephanie snorted.
Stephanie: How much-
Brooke: I heard everything. Your own granddaughter.
She rose and collected her portfolio.
Brooke: You know, your raising your hand to me is a given, it has been for years. But your own granddaughter?
Taylor exhaled.
Taylor: You're overreacting, Brooke.
Brooke: I'm overreacting. Right.
Taylor: You are reading too much into-
Brooke: I know what I heard.
She stared at the two of them, a couple of frigid, condescending harpies and decided that getting into a pissing contest would be futile. Taylor she could handle, as the woman was a coward, but she knew that Stephanie was probably still pissed about her remarks earlier.

Ridge's Office The Same Time
Brooke picked up her purse.
Stephanie: Where do you think you're going?
Brooke: Not that it's your business, but I'm going home.
Stephanie: Running home to Ridge?
Brooke: Again, not your business.
Stephanie: You're living in a fool's paradise if you think he's going to forgive you.
Brooke scoffed.
Brooke: You're unbelievable. And you're deluded.
Stephanie stared at her.
Brooke: Your son cheated on me and he's in a position to forgive?
Taylor cleared her throat.
Brooke: Shut UP, Taylor. Don't think I'm going to let this slide. I have had a busy day and I don't need the aggravation of reading you the riot act your bloodless, sanctimonious ass deserves. And I don't feel like fighting your lord and master off.
She slammed her way out of the office.

Myrhea's House Five O'Clock
Myrhea entered her home and tossed her purse on the chair. She exhaled as she thought about her day. After she had gone to get her key duplicated, she and her boss met for coffee.
Flashback, Insomnia
Bill: I hope I'm not putting you out.
Myrhea: You're not.
Bill: I am just worried about Allie. Aside from Brooke's daughter Hope, I don't think she has too many friends.
Myrhea: And you don't want her family getting to her.
Bill: True. Plus she needs a mother/older sister figure. That entire family pretty much ignores her.
Myrhea shook her head.
Myrhea: That poor girl. I cannot believe that horrible woman actually hit her.
Bill: Her own granddaughter.

Insomnia The Same Time
Brooke entered, a tense look on her face. She had a million thoughts running through her head.
So, Allie was the one who found out about Ridge and Taylor?
She coughed as she went to the counter.
Brooke: I'd like a lo-fat carmel macchiato, please.
Cashier: Certainly.
Brooke exhaled as she pulled out her credit card. She made a mental note to call Hope about babysitting her brother.
Cashier: Your coffee.
Brooke smiled politely, then swiped her card. As if on instinct, she turned around and scanned the restaurant.
Just the usual suspects, she thought, then did a double-take when she saw a familiar face.
My God, that's Amber.
She squinted when she saw that her former daughter-in-law was with a small boy.

Insomnia The Same Time
Brooke peered across the room at Amber, then, as if on impulse, she picked up her drink and walked over. Amber was giggling as the boy pulled on her hair. The older woman cleared her throat and Amber looked up, then smiled sheepishly.
Amber: Brooke.
Brooke: Hello, Amber. How are you?
Amber: Fine.
Brooke: Mind if I sit down?
Amber: No, of course not.
Brooke dropped her purse on the floor and sat down.
Brooke: It's been a while.
Amber: No argument there.
The boy turned to her and giggled, then reached for her hair.
Deacon: Goldilocks.
Brooke froze when she noticed the child's dark hair and large brown eyes, but she willed herself to stay calm.
My God, he's Thomas's.
Brooke: And who is this handsome fellow?
Amber: My son, Deacon. Say hi to Brooke, Baby.
Deacon: Book.

I can't believe how far I got behind on this story! I love it...it is just phenominal! ;D I love Aly and her backbone. Stephanie and Taylor NEVER change. I like Bill. I may even come to like Thorne if he starts championing his daughter. I like Amber, and I especially like the idea of her (knowing how reviled she is by Tayphanie) being mother to Thomas' baby. Did I leave anything out? Maybe I should've simply said that there was nothing I didn't like... I love it all!!!

Insomnia The Same Time
Brooke smiled at Deacon and placed a finger on his nose. He giggled.
Deacon: Book.
Brooke turned to Amber.
Brooke: Does Thomas-
Amber: No, no one except Mom and me.
Brooke coughed.
Brooke: That's why you want a lawyer.
Amber: Yep. Look, Brooke, I hate to ask this, but I need this kept quiet, at least until my lawyer and I talk.
Brooke: I see.
Amber: I know it is a lot to ask.
Brooke rubbed her head. As angry as she was at Ridge, she wasn't sure if she wanted to pull the plug on her marriage. And if he found out that she was keeping a secret like this, she knew he would be off and running. Plus she could count on his mother and Taylor working him over. She could hear them now.
"Brooke isn't to be trusted."
"How many times are you going to forgive her?"
"I would never lie to you like this, Ridge."
Why are you doing this to yourself, Brooke?
Then she looked at Amber and thought of her raising her son in Tawney's trailer with no financial support as well as the flack she got when she was involved with Thomas. She closed her eyes, then opened them.
Brooke: You are right, this is a lot to ask. However, I know what it's like to be under fire for an unplanned pregnancy. And I know what it is like to have your motivations picked over with a fine-tooth comb. So, I'll keep quiet.

Forrester Creations, Eric's Office The Same Time
Thorne sat at his father's desk, nursing a cup of coffee. He knew that he was living on borrowed time, as when Ridge showed up, he was going to throw his weight around and spout crap in that dial tone voice of his.
Maybe I should lock the door, he thought, then decided against it. Why the hell should I lie down and play dead, he thought angrily. If that scummy creep who calls himself my brother barges in, I'll tell him to take a hike. And if Mother and Dad don't like it, tough crap.
He leaned back and thought about the events of the day.
I wish Darla were still around, he thought, then felt his eyes water. Why doesn't Allie call me?
The phone rang and he picked it up.
Thorne: Hello?
Voice: Hello, Thorne? What the hell are you doing in Dad's office?
Thorne gritted his teeth. He knew that voice anywhere.
Thorne: Oh, I'm just looking over the sales from last month, Ridge.
Ridge: Well, I'm going to need the office, so could you leave.
What a bastard, Thorne thought.
Thorne: Nope.
Ridge: Excuse me?
Thorne: I said no. I have a bit of work to do, and I can concentrate better in here. Besides, why do you need the office so badly?
Ridge: Well, it's going to be all mine one day.
The hell it is.
Thorne: You mean when Dad retires.
Ridge: That's right.
Thorne: Well, until then, you can cool your jets elsewhere. Besides, shouldn't you be trying to patch things up with Brooke?
Ridge: Not your concern.
Thorne: I'm sure it's not. But I am waiting on a call from my daughter and I need the privacy.
Ridge snorted.
Ridge: I cannot believe she did Taylor like this.

Taylor's Mansion The Same Time
Thomas Forrester sat at the kitchen table, chewing on his thumbnail. He had watched the news of his parents' afternoon with misgivings. Even though he loved them both, their sleeping together when his father was married to Brooke left a bad taste in his mouth. He frowned.
If Mom and Dad were married and he slept with Brooke, she would be labeled the whore of LA by pretty much everyone, particularly his grandmother, he thought. Somehow he had a feeling that his grandmother would find an excuse for his mother.
He shook his head.
Thomas was a tall, handsome young man of twenty-five and despite his devil-may-care air, he had a high IQ-a hundred and seventy eight. After Bill Spencer had gotten control of the company, he felt a slight tinge of relief, as since he was a teenager, he had people expecting him to work for the family. He went through the motions, but it was more out of duty than what he really wanted. When Spencer took over, he and his family had less say, so he took some time off to take classes. He took accounting and as a project, he tracked the family finances. It took some doing, but once he got a taste of the finances, he was hooked.

Cafe Ruise Seven-Thirty P.M.
Brooke pulled out a compact and examined her image with a jaded eye. She had taken special care with her appearance, as she had a feeling her escort was a bit more discerning than that jerk she was married to. She scowled as she thought of Ridge and his attempts at flattery:
"Hey, Logan. Aren't you looking hot enough to eat?"
"Boy, no one dresses it up an takes it out like my Logan."
Her face darkened at the last one.
Good God almighty, does he think I'm a stripper?
No, she had a feeling Ray had more intellectual firepower than Ridge. Plus he seemed like the type of guy who could smell crap a mile off and didn't play games.
I want to look like I take care with my appearance but this is just dinner.
She had washed her hair and tied it back. As for clothes, she had opted for an emerald green Thai silk suit with a beige silk tank top.

Cafe Ruise The Same Time
Ray sauntered into the high-end eatery to meet his latest potential client. He was dressed in grey wool pants with a black silk shirt and a tie as well as shades. He knew he looked like the proverbial bad-ass, but he didn't give a damn. As he cleared his throat, he noticed his date talking to the matre'd.
Damn, she was good-looking.
He walked over to her.

Cafe Ruise The Same Time
Ridge swaggered in, dressed in a white suit and his hair slicked back. He thought he looked dignified, but to an outsider, he looked like a sleazy lounge lizard. After he had hung up on Thorne, he had called Taylor and asked her to meet him for dinner. He knew Logan was going to be there as well, but he was going to pretend that he forgot about their date. His ego was still smarting from his wife's comments and he wanted to punish her. He figured he would stand there while Taylor put Brooke down in that nasal voice of hers, and he would do nothing. He smirked at how predictable both the women in his life were-Taylor would lecture Brooke about how she didn't deserve him, and Brooke would do nothing. She had been told by his mother as well as him how she didn't measure up to Taylor so many times, she believed it.
Damn, I'm good, he thought as he straightened his tie.
He sauntered up to the maitre' d.
Ridge: Hello, Pierre.
Pierre blinked.
What was he doing here, he thought. Brooke had told him that her husband wasn't coming.
Pierre: Mr. Forrester. What are you doing here?
Ridge: Eating, of course. I have a reservation. Don't you remember?
Pierre: But your wife said you wouldn't be joining her.
Across the restaurant.
Brooke turned to her escort and smiled that smile, the smile that caused men to fall at her feet.
Brooke: Mr. Worthington.
Ray smiled. Boy, Ridge Forrester was stupid to cheat on this gorgeous creature.
Ray: Please, call me Ray.
Brooke checked him out. He certainly had a nice smile.
