Insomnia The Same Time
Steffy exhaled as the waitress walked off. She was in a rotten mood after being bawled out by both Brooke and Bill. And she was furious at the way Brooke had talked to her, reminding her of her tryst with Rick. And she felt like a real fool because Bill, the man whom she thought understood her, had not come to her defense.
I want those two to pay, she thought angrily.
As she waited for the waitress, she glanced around the place. Just the usual crowd of college students, she thought. What trashy, common people. Even though she did not have a degree, she had lived overseas for two years and considered herself a woman of the world. She exhaled and did a double-take when she saw a blond woman in a booth. She was giggling and playing with a little boy.
I know I've seen her somewhere, she thought. Then the woman giggled again, and she coughed.
My God, that's Amber Moore.
Her face darkened as she thought of how Amber had left town earlier, after her ill-advised tryst with Thomas.
Leave it to my brother to screw trash, she thought. He and Dad have this weak spot for trashy blonds. The little boy turned around and giggled, and Steffy gasped. He was a dark-haired child with big, brown eyes.
He's a dead ringer for Thomas's baby pictures.

Insomnia The Same Time
Steffy felt faint and clutched the counter.
My God, that tramp has MY brother's child. That trash and her bastard are actually in a position to lay claim to MY money. She narrowed her eyes.
Why the hell didn't she have an abortion?
She gasped at the thought of her brother laboring on top of the terrier-voiced grifter.
I'll bet she got pregnant on purpose, she thought. I can hear her now:
"It's okay, Thomas, I can't have kids."
"You can't get a girl pregnant when you do it the first time."
"I'm on the pill."
That gold-digging trash set out to trap my brother, she thought.
How DARE she.
As Deacon giggled and grabbed his mother's blond hair, Amber felt a chill, as if they were being watched. Instinctively she looked up to see the brunette in the trench staring at her.
Is it my imagination or is she glaring at us?
Amber stared back and pulled her son closer. After her two previous pregnancies, she treasured her little boy and would literally maim anyone who threatened him.
I need a lawyer, she thought. Then she thought of her former mother-in-law, Brooke.
Her lawyer was Connor Davis and he made sure she got her share of the company, she thought. I need someone like that in my corner.

Brooke's Mansion The Same Time
Brooke sat at her kitchen table, nursing a cup of coffee and thinking about her day. She could not believe she had slapped the mother-in-law from hell as well as her little namesake.
How long before that twisted tag team squeals to Ridge, she thought, then shook her head. She could just imagine the whining and spinning going on, which made her laugh. Knowing Ridge, he would probably sit there and do nothing while the two harpies bashed her and painted her as the Antichrist. Between Stephanie, Taylor, and the newest member of their little coven, she had a feeling she was going to get hit from all sides.
Maybe I should call Bill, she thought.
The phone rang and she picked it up.
Brooke: Hello?
Voice: Hello, Brooke?
Brooke: This is she.
Voice: Hello, it's Amber.
Brooke: Amber. Are you in LA?
Amber: I am, actually. Please don't hang up.
Brooke: Ok, what can I do for you?
Amber: I need the name of a lawyer. I don't have very much money and if I go through the yellow pages, it's a waste of time. Plus I worry about getting ripped off.
Brooke: Are you in-
Amber: Trouble? No, believe it or not, I haven't done anything. I just need legal advice. And I know you had a kick-ass lawyer when you got control of the company.
Brooke: Yes, I had Connor Davis. I can get you his number, but he is expensive.
Amber: Damn.
Brooke: However, he is a decent guy and I am sure you two could make an arrangement money-wise.

Bill's Office
Allie sat in the chair facing Bill, her beautiful face impassive as she read the trades. The crap-storm Taylor was getting was even better than she expected. She exhaled as she sipped her latte.
Bill: So what do you think?
Allie: Impressive. So she really has to forfeit her shares?
Bill: Yep. As a matter of fact, Justin is drawing up the papers to transfer ownership to me, and I will then transfer twenty-five percent to you.
Allie: So this is iron-clad?
Bill: Yep. What's wrong?
Allie: It just hit me, there is no going back.
He raised an eyebrow.
Bill: How do you feel about that?
Allie: I don't know. I've been invisible for so long, it feels weird.
Bill: Well, you made the right move. Taylor has no business in this company, period.
His phone rang.
Bill: Yes, Myrhea?
Myrhea: A Stephanie Forrester is here to see you.
Bill: Well, tell her that-
Stephanie barged in, flushed and angry.
Bill: Stephanie.
Stephanie: You double-crossing bastard.
Bill: Excuse me?
Stephanie: You tricked us, you tricked us all.
Bill chuckled.
Stephanie: You should be ashamed. Your father would be horrified. He was an honorable man.
Bill: Oh, really?
Stephanie: He was always on the up and up.
Bill: Oh, was he on the up and up when he set Ridge up to screw that model the night before the wedding to Caroline?
She glared at him.
Bill: Don't get me wrong, I loved my father and admired the hell out of him, but he could be pretty crooked when the situation warranted it.
Stephanie: Smearing my son's good name.
Bill: Your son the adulterer?
Stephanie: It wasn't adultery.
Bill: Sure it wasn't.
Stephanie: I don't know how you found out about his afternoon with Taylor, but I will find out. And when I do-
Bill: Pu-lease, PIs are a dime a dozen in this town, lady.
Stephanie: Well, I will find out who the traitor is who put MY company at risk. And smeared Taylor's good name.
Allie turned around in her chair.
Allie: That would be me, Grandmother.
She spit out the word "Grandmother."
Stephanie stared at her.
Stephanie: My God. How-
Allie: Easy. I put bugs in Ridge's office and turned over the tapes of him and that drunken tramp.
Stephanie: Why? Why would you do such a thing?
Allie: I want my mother's killer out of my family's company.
She stood up.
Allie: She killed my mother and she is hurting the company.

Bill's Office
Stephanie stared at her granddaughter in horror.
This had to be some sort of sick joke.
There was no way Allie would do anything so diabolical. She was just like her father, unassuming and weak. And she was like her mother, dumb and common as dirt. She didn't have the brains to double-cross anyone.
Stephanie: You aren't serious.
Allie: Yes, I am.
Stephanie: How could you do this to Taylor, after all she's done for you?
Allie stared her down.
Allie: You're serious? She ran down my mother like a stray dog, then seduced my father into speaking on her behalf. She destroyed my family and didn't pay.
Stephanie: She was willing to take your mother's place.
Allie: Considering the way she eliminated my mother, she wasn't doing me any favors.
Stephanie: You should have gotten down on your knees to thank God that you had Taylor as a candidate for your mother.
Allie gasped.
Allie: I don't believe you. She ran my mother down, and you knew all along. Not only did you know, you lied to both my father and me. Is she really more important to you than either of us?
Stephanie: I-so that's what this is about. Jealousy.
Allie: What?
Stephanie: It's understandable, Honey, that you would be jealous. After all, Taylor has everything, class, intelligence, looks, and compassion. She's the closest thing to a saint that I have ever met.
Bill kept his face blank, but inside, he was laughing. If Taylor was a saint in this woman's eyes, she needed to get out more.
Allie: Please, a saint wouldn't have gotten behind the wheel of a car after drinking half a bottle of wine. And a saint wouldn't have bartered her body as a way to stay out of jail.
Stephanie drew herself up.
Stephanie: How DARE you talk about her in such a crude fashion.
Allie: You accused me of being jealous of a common drunk.
Stephanie: She is hardly common.
Allie: Oh, sorry, a moneyed drunk. And a liar on top of that. She only came clean until after Dad spoke on her behalf. Then she dumped him after she got what she wanted.
Allie finished her latte and looked her grandmother over.
Allie: Just a question, Grandmother, had that been Brooke behind the wheel of that car, I don't think you would be so-
Stephanie hauled off and slapped her, she fell back.
Stephanie: You little bitch.
Bill: Stephanie, that's enough.
He rose and walked over to Allie.
Bill: You have five seconds to get out of my office before I have security drag you out.
Stephanie: I want you to know that you are dead to me. No one does what you did to your uncle and Taylor and has a place in my family.

Fang chooses Lips over her own granddaughter. What a surprise. Yep, isn't she awful? What's pissing her off is the fact that Allie stuck it to Taylor and she used a Stephanie-like maneuver to do it.

Bill's Office The Same Time
Bill took Allie by the arm and led her towards his chair. Then he turned to Stephanie and glared at her in consternation.
Bill: You heard me, you hypocritical bitch from hell, leave.
Stephanie: Excuse me?
Bill: Your own granddaughter. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Stephanie glared at him.
Stephanie: I'm not going to apologize for protecting my family.
Bill: Please, you're not protecting anything but your precious pet poodle, Taydrunk. And you have no problem stabbing your son and granddaughter in the back to do it.
He pulled himself up.
Bill: If you were a man, I'd shove your head throw that window. But I'll just have to settle for throwing you out. Now get the hell out of my office before I have you dragged out in cuffs.
Stephanie: Very well, I'll leave. But I stand by my decision. This girl is not my granddaughter.
She stormed out.
Allie shook as she wiped her eyes. Bill handed her a hanky.
Bill: I'm sorry.
Allie: Not your fault. I knew that when I bugged that office and turned the tapes over to you, there was no turning back. It was that or let that plastic witch run around my family company.
Bill: Just a question, where are you staying?
Allie: My father's. Damn, I need to call him.
Bill pressed a button on his phone.
Bill: Myrhea?
Myrhea: Yes, Boss?
Bill: Step in here for a moment.
Allie blew her nose. The door opened, and Myrhea, a heavy-set black woman of twenty-two with a smile that could light up a room, stepped in.
Bill: Ah, there's my girl. You've met Alexandra Forrester, right?
Myrhea: Yes, I have.
Bill: Do you have an extra bedroom in your apartment?
Myrhea: Yes, I have a guest room.
Bill: I need you to let Ms. Forrester stay with you.
He turned to Allie.
Bill: Is that ok?
She nodded.

Forrester Creations Ten Minutes Later
Stephanie stormed into the reception area, thoroughly pissed off. The day had not started off well, what with the reporters actually calling Taylor a tramp and a hypocrite and Brooke copping an attitude from hell. Plus if Jon was right, it looked like Ridge had no say in the company and was going to be at the mercy of a jealous bastard like Bill Spencer. Plus it looked like her one ally, Taylor, was out of the company.
Just last week, Taylor and I were in charge, she thought. We had fifty percent of the company and that tramp at our mercy. Now it looked like she was all alone in her quest to rid her company of the trash known as Brooke Logan, as Ridge had no power and Eric had no backbone.
How could things go so horribly wrong?
What made her even angrier was Allie's nonsense. She had gotten hard, mean, ungrateful, and rude, plus she seemed to have no sense of family loyalty. She was going to talk to Thorne about that. Had he married Taylor, the girl wouldn't be a problem.

Forrester Creations, The Conference Room The Same Time
Jon, Thorne, and Eric sat around the table. They had been going over the documents that had transferred ownership back to Eric, Ridge, Taylor, and Stephanie, looking for any kind of loophole.
Eric: So there's nothing we can do?
Jon exhaled.
Jon: You and Stephanie are in charge, but Ridge and Taylor have no say. Their shares go back to Bill.
Eric: Damn.
Thorne cleared his throat.
Thorne: You know, this may not be a bad thing.
Eric: Excuse me?
Thorne: Maybe this should keep Ridge in line. After all, how many times has he tried to take over?
Eric: Look, he's been-
Thorne: Groomed to take over since birth. Yeah, I know.
Stephanie barged in.
Eric: Stephanie.
Stephanie: Gentlemen. Where's Ridge?
Jon: He's designing. Then he said he had to go see Taylor. My guess is, he's telling her about the shares.
Stephanie: Dammit.
She sat down.
Stephanie: So I am guessing that Spencer is still in charge.
Jon: Pretty much.
She leaned back.
Stephanie: I know who the dissident is.
Jon: What?
Stephanie: I know who the traitor is who aired Ridge and Taylor's private business to the world.
Thorne: Really. You know, I may get slack for this, but I don't think that Taylor losing her shares is a bad thing.
Stephanie gasped.
Stephanie: So you have no problem with Spencer being-
Thorne: Relax. Maybe Brooke has enough money to buy some-
Stephanie: No.
Thorne: If she bought some, not all, of the shares, Spencer might have less say.
Stephanie: It will be a cold day in hell before I let that-
Thorne: Will you stop for one minute? Brooke owning a percentage might not be a bad idea. She's always been loyal to this company. Even more so than any of us. Plus she's married to Ridge.
Stephanie waved her hand.
Stephanie: Later. We need to deal with the snake in our midst.
Thorne: Ok. Who?
Stephanie: Your daughter.
She spit out the word "daughter" as if it were poison.
Thorne: What?
Stephanie: Your daughter put bugs in Ridge's office. She then turned the tapes over to Spencer, and he ran with it.
Thorne's eyes widened.
Thorne: I don't believe it.
Stephanie: Believe it. She bragged about it. She stabbed her uncle, your brother, in the back and she betrayed Taylor. Not only have we lost fifty percent of the company, but Taylor's reputation has been sullied and destroyed, all because of her and some silly vendetta. Therefore she has no place in-
Eric: Stephanie.
Stephanie: Don't interrupt me. I am drawing up my will and disowning her.
Eric: I-she's your granddaughter. Your own flesh and blood.

The Conference Room
Stephanie: In name only. I will never forgive her for putting Taylor and Ridge on the cover of every tabloid in the city. The treasonous little-
Thorne: That's enough.
He rose, his face flushed with anger.
Thorne: That is my daughter you're talking about.
Stephanie: Well, if you want any say in this company, you will-
Thorne: Follow your lead and disown my own child?
Stephanie: You could at least talk to her for betraying Taylor.
Thorne gasped.
Thorne: Do you even want to go there, Mother?
Stephanie: Go where?
Thorne: Oh, I think you know where. Did she tell you why she did it?
Stephanie snorted.
Stephanie: She's jealous because Taylor has always had a special place in my heart.
Bitch, Thorne thought.
Thorne: She said that?
Stephanie: She didn't need to. You see, I know Allie better than she knows herself.
Thorne: Bull-crap. What did my daughter say?
Stephanie sighed, a loud put-upon sigh.
Stephanie: She whined about Taylor running her mother down.
Thorne covered his mouth and shut his eyes.
Stephanie: That happened years ago, and Taylor paid. She really needs to-
Thorne: Shut UP.
He turned to her, his eyes angry.
Thorne: You have nerve calling my daughter a traitor, after what Taylor did to the two of us. She ran Darla down and lied about it, and you were willing to keep her dirty little secret.
He reached for his jacket.
Stephanie: Where are you going?
Thorne: To look for my daughter.

The Conference Room
Stephanie: Thorne, wait.
Thorne: What?
Stephanie: Sit down. We need to discuss doing damage control and the future of this company.
Thorne: You're serious?
Stephanie: Yes, I am. Taylor has been humiliated and this company-
Thorne: Oh, f*ck this company. And f*ck you, Mother.
There was a collective gasp.
Thorne: My daughter is in pain and all you care about is Taylor's image and this damn company.
Stephanie rose.
Stephanie: Thorne, I'm warning you.
He turned to her in a fury.
Thorne: What, are you going to disown me, Mother? How many times do you pull that card? I displease you and you pull this crap. Well, it's old and I am sick of it. My daughter is worth more to me than this company.
He slammed his way out.

Well that does it! I'm never watching the tv show again. This story is so much better, a really good read. It's true to the original characters and more realistic. No re-writing history here. Congrats to you - this reminds me of Bells Sr. writing from 20 years ago - the reason I watched the show in the beginning. It really exemplifies how Bell Jrs professional writing staff now is producing piss-poor results.
