Wow! Great story, MissJr! Infinitely better than what DumbBell regularly craps out!
I love how you're finally having the scumbags of this show face the music for their vile, despicable actions!

Stephanie was fit to be tied! Initially, she did not want to believe Catherine's claims—claims which she believed to be specious and highly suspect. As she analyzed their conversation, she tried to attribute several possible motives for Catherine's assertions. Unfortunately, she was forced to admit that Catherine had spoken the truth. After all, isn't that why she, herself, had tried to ship Bridget off to Copenhagen? "Only, to have my foolish son interfere," Stephanie sourly reflected. In addition, Catherine had proven to be without guile and truly had the children's best interests at heart. "Unlike others," Stephanie muttered angrily. Oh, no. It wasn't Catherine who was the problem; it was Bridget. "And, when I get my hands on her, I'm going to wring her scrawny neck!" _______________

Brooke brimmed with excitement as she and Katie settled themselves on one of the comfortable tapestry-upholstered couches in the Dining Room. How thrilling it was to be out socializing instead of at home crying her eyes out! The Dining Room began to rapidly fill with chattering, well-dressed and well-heeled guests, who had come to sample the offerings of the hotel's renowned British chef. As the string quartet began the "Spring" concerto from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, the guests helped themselves to the scones with Devonshire cream and fruit preserves, chocolate-dipped strawberries, various pastries, and finger sandwiches, along with various teas. Friends and acquaintances greeted one another with lavish praise about their outfits and hairstyles, while tactfully not commenting on the four weeks that some of them were not seen in public while recovering from their latest plastic surgery procedures. Brooke could not help but note that a small number of the women had men on their arms, whom they proudly showed off like the latest trinket in their jewelry collections. The men, for their part, looked tired and bored with it all. Brooke and Katie chose a couch that allowed them the perfect vantage point to people watch. The sisters, both beautiful, were a perfect contrast. Clad in Celine, Katie's casual pairing of a black short-sleeved cashmere sweater with a beige and black lace skirt, showed her sexy and playful side. A pair of beige strippy Manolo Blahnik sandals showed off her freshly pedicured feet. She kept her jewelry simple, opting for silver hoops in her ears and a pair of bangles on her wrists. Brooke's yellow silk sleeveless dress with a lace overlay, by designer Monique Lhullier, was elegance and sophistication personified. The dress' scalloped hemline, which stopped above the knee, along with its V-shaped neckline which showed off a hint of bosom, made the dress flirty and sexy. The neckline was not too low for daytime and gave Brooke a chance to show off her newly purchased diamond drop necklace with a single yellow 2.35 carat diamond. A pair of gold Stuart Weitzman sandals with double laces around the ankles showed off Brooke's sexy legs. Brooke and Katie had taken full advantage of the hotel's full-service salon. Katie's chestnut locks had been highlighted and were prepared in a Grecian braid in the front, with the rest of her hair cascading down her back. Brooke's own hair, which had been set, hung in loose curls. The sisters' makeup had been kept to a minimum, merely highlighting their natural beauty instead of masking it. "Having fun?" Brooke asked as she took in all the activity around her. "A blast!" Katie responded, daintily nibbling a cucumber sandwich. "Oh, no!" She gasped as she saw a familiar sight headed their way. _______________

"I know you think I'm terrible," Eric said. " I'll do it," Felicia quickly replied to Kristen's horror. "I'll do it in a heartbeat." "Felicia! Do you know what you're saying? You know Mother would NEVER agree to something like this!" "Well, that's too bad," Felicia stubbornly replied. "She should have thought of THAT before doing what she did. I know it sounds trifling, but if this will ease Dad's mind, then I'm all for it. Besides, I think the possibility of the publicity alone would be incentive enough to make her comply." "Kristen's right. Nobody MAKES mother do anything," Thorne disputed. "Dad, please tell me you're joking!" Kristen begged as she sat at her father's side and held his hand. "Let's say that for the sake of argument that she lied about all of us. At the end of the day, does it really matter? As far as I'm concerned, I'm your daughter." "I'm embarrassed that 40-some years after the fact that I would have these kinds of doubts." Eric said. "Is it really that important to you?" "Yes," Eric hoarsely answered. "But—" "Dad, why don't you give us a while to sleep on it and think about it?" Thorne suggested. "I don't think any of us are in a position to decide right now." "Well I AM!" Felicia defiantly declared. "I say let's put it all out there and then maybe we can move on as a family." _______________

"Well, Sheila, have you given anymore thought about what we discussed in our last session?" "About what?" Sheila replied with boredom. "About your future plans." "Future plans?" Sheila snickered contemptuously. "Well, let's see now. Under California's three strikes law, I think MY future is pretty well set, don't you?" She asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "If you have so much apathy about your own future, have you at least given some thought to the future of your baby? You don't have a lot of time, you know." Dr. Garcia reminded Sheila. Sheila's eyes coldly narrowed as she rubbed her swollen belly. "Yes, I've given some thought about my baby's future!" She waspishly retorted. "And?" "And, what?" "Have you considered your options, including contacting your child's father? Not only does he have a legal and moral obligation to support this child, but he has certain rights—especially if you're considering adoption. Which reminds me, have you perhaps considered signing away your parental rights so that the baby can be adopted to be raised in a stable, loving—" "Are you implying that I don't love my baby, DOCTOR?" Sheila snarled. "Or, that I'm not stable?" "No, Sheila, I didn't imply any such thing. In fact, I think the most loving thing you can do is to place this child with a family. As for your stability, I DO think you need to be realistic. It's unfortunate that this will be the second child that you've had to give up. Surely, you must understand that you're in no position to raise the child." "Well, in answer to your 20 questions, I've TRIED to contact the father and he's refused my phone calls. The couple of letters I've written to him at his home and his office have been returned. I've written others, but he hasn't responded." "Oh, you mean letters like these?" Dr. Garcia asked. She opened the file on her desk and retrieved a couple of photocopied letters written in Sheila's hand. She slid them across the desk for Sheila's review. Sheila's eyes turned into angry slits. "Why weren't these mailed?" She demanded, shaking with outrage at this invasion of her privacy. "What right do you have to read my mail?" "Sheila, you know as well as I do that all inmate mail and phone calls are subject to monitoring. If you read these letters, they are replete with threats—some subtle and some rather blatant." "Threats? Pffft!" Sheila snorted contemptuously. "Just because I threatened to expose that piece of sh*t for the bastard he is, I'm threatening him? All I want him to do is to own up to his responsibilities. Why would I want to hurt him? That's like killing the goose who laid the golden egg." "Golden egg?" Dr. Garcia asked. "Yeah—he's loaded. Rich." "It's understandable that you want this man to own up to his responsibilities as a father; but, do you see this as some kind of financial windfall? It's akin to using your child as a source of income." "Financial windfall? Are you kidding? ARE you kidding? What kind of windfall am I supposed to get while I'm locked up? HUH? You know, Doc, for a chick with a medical degree, you sure don't have a lot of common sense, do you?" "And why is that?" Dr. Garcia asked, refusing to get her feathers ruffled. After all, being insulted and personally attacked often came with the territory. "Other than sending me money so I can sustain myself in here, his money won't do ME much good! He's so busy building an empire and a family compound for his newfound son—a grown mama's boy with serious impulse control issues—and his three little brats! Well, I want my little one to enjoy the same lifestyle to which her father, big brother and extended family have become quite accustomed. She's going to live in that big mansion he's building. She's going to have riding lessons, a nanny, a governess—everything. She'll attend the best schools. She's going to have EVERYTHING and that creep is going to make it happen. Otherwise, I'm going to be forced to write to every business journal, every magazine, and every newspaper and let them know how this great tycoon fathered the child of a three-strikes lifer, and how he refuses to do right by her. I'll drag him on to 'Maury' if I have to, and Oprah just LOVES these types of stories." _______________

Very good, MissJR! ;D Sheila is so crazy ... that I am now wondering what your plans are for her and Massimo...if he is the father? I was never convinced their one-night-stand resulted in anything but making me nauseous watching Sheila and Massimo eat strawberries and making small talk in bed ... Not even sure his old swimmers would do much ... but who knows? Now ... I am sitting here very patiently .... waiting for Bricky ...

In all honesty, I'm not even sure if Massimo is the father. I've always thought it odd that everyone took it for granted on that Sheila was telling the truth about Diana. It's tragic that the baby will probably be born while Sheila is in jail but as the doctor said, she doesn't have a lot of time. And Massimo's little romp with her is going to bite him in the butt because Sheila has nothing but time on her hands and she can afford to be patient and to make his life a living hell. The imagery of them in bed was enough to make me break out into hives! I'm still trying to understand how a guy like Massimo was able to get not only Sheila into bed, but to also mack someone like Megan.

Horsey, I promise that Bricky will be "here" soon! And you're right about Eric. He isn't backing down even in the face of some pretty stiff opposition from his children. Yeah, Sheila is something else. The problem with sociopaths like her is that they can't be treated with conventional medications. She has a bunch of personality disorders, which will only go away when the "host" dies. Thanks for reading and your comments!

Stephanie's mouth formed into a round "O" of surprise as she looked through the paned glass of the front door. Horrified, she angrily flung the door open and glowered at her visitor. "May I help you?" She asked disdainfully as if she were speaking to an annoying door-to-door peddler. Bridget merely looked Stephanie up and down, nonplussed by her attitude. "I'm here to check on the children—and Ridge," she responded haughtily as she attempted to enter the house. However, Stephanie deftly blocked her entrance and refused to budge. "And Ridge? Honey, you are just way too transparent." Stephanie coolly observed as she took in Bridget's sexed-up appearance. "Well, little girl, I'm sorry to disappoint you but Ridge isn't here right now. So I'm afraid you tarted yourself up for nothing! I would strongly suggest you turn right around, get back in your car and go home!" "Excuse me but do you actually LIVE here now?" Bridget rudely demanded, thinking that Stephanie had some nerve. Who did the bitch think she was?!"As a matter of fact, I do live here." Stephanie smugly replied. Bridget audibly gasped as this bit of news clearly took her by surprise. However, her surprise turned into determination. She was not about to let this old buffalo bulldoze over her."Well, the last time I checked, this was Ridge's house and YOU had a home of your own!" Bridget cheekily spoke up. "My son needs me. You have brought nothing but confusion into his life, and I won't stand by anymore and allow it." "Confusion? But, I—I— never—" Bridget sputtered as she attempted to deny Stephanie's accusation. However, her antagonist was having none of it and immediately cut her off. "Yes—confusion! There is nothing more natural than a sister helping her brother and his family out during a crisis, and for that, you are to be commended. But, you couldn't stop there, could you? No! Instead you took advantage of Ridge's grief," Stephanie accused as Bridget's eyes widened in shock. "Well, don't think I don't know what you've been up to. It's nasty and it is WRONG! It ends NOW—today. Do you understand me? TODAY! Go somewhere and get a man of your own—preferably someone your own age and one who isn't related to you. There is, nor can there ever be, NOTHING between you and Ridge. Do you hear me? I will NOT have that kind of perversion around those children!" "Well, you hear me." Bridget stated as she boldly stepped to Stephanie, taking the older woman by surprise as she was forced to retreat slightly or get knocked down. "My brother told me that I am ALWAYS welcome in this house, and unless he personally tells me otherwise, that will always be the case. And, once and for all, get it straight. Ridge and I are NOT related so there is nothing perverted about what happened!" _______________

It's like what Catherine told her went in one ear and right out the other. One part of her brain processed what Catherine said about Bridget; but the other part of her brain shut down completely about Ridge. And isn't it strange how an overnight stay suddenly went from her staying for a few days to practically living there now? If she had any sense, she would be more concerned about Eric and her other children.

"What's wrong?" A worried Brooke asked. "It's not—" "No, it's not that pest," Katie replied, easing her sister's fears. "Try not to stare, but it's that horrible woman and she's headed in this direction." "What horrible woman?" Brooke asked as she craned her neck and squinted. Her curiosity was immediately satisfied, however, as she spotted Los Angeles' queen of gossip. No one could miss the feared and much despised Freda Frump with the requisite photographer at her heels. "Do you think she sees us?" "Unfortunately, yes," Brooke frowned. Not only was Freda an unwelcome sight, but she was an amusing one as well. As usual, she was dressed in a suit—periwinkle blue—with shoes that were dyed to match. Freda was also renown for her bizarre hats, and the one she wore was no exception. Brooke found herself giggling, along with some of the other guests, at the contraption on Freda's head. "Is that what I think it is?" She laughed. "It sure is!" Katie snickered. As Freda headed their way, she was instantly the center of attention, for on her head was a periwinkle blue flat felt disk topped by a bird's nest dyed powder blue with a little blue bird perched atop it. Whenever Freda moved, the little bird bobbled in several directions. Filled with supreme self-confidence, Freda could have cared less about the spectacle she made. Nor, did it hurt that she had dirt on virtually everyone in the Dining Room. "Do you think we should try to get away from her?" Katie wondered. "No," Brooke answered shortly. "I'm here to enjoy myself and I'm not about to buck and run from anybody—much less that fishwife with a poison pen." "Well, well! Brooke, dear! Fancy meeting you here!" Freda trilled, looking as if butter wouldn't melt in her mouth. "I trust that you've sufficiently recovered from yesterday. Your wedding— such a tragedy! The way you ran out of that room, you looked as if you smelled something rotten. You know I told Stephanie as much—that I detected something decidedly foul and malodorous about that house. I suspect, dear, that you discovered it just in time, too!" "As always, Freda, it's nice to see you, too," Brooke replied, determined to ignore the old dragon's attempts to draw her into a conversation about the wedding. Uninvited, Freda sat in one of the Queen Anne chairs facing Brooke and Katie. "I must say, dear, that you certainly don't look the worst for wear. In fact, you look rather well rested! Now, you must tell me—what IS your secret? Most girls in your position would have been at home drowning their sorrows in drink or out on Rodeo shopping their heartaches away, but YOU ... well, you seem to have mastered the art of breaking men's hearts and not taking a backwards glance! How DO you do it, dear?" Freda airily asked, as she slyly got her digs in at Brooke's expense. Brooke squinted and dug her nails into her hands, restraining the urge to slap the rouge off the old dragon's lips. "I'm not quite sure I know what you mean," she evenly replied. "Oh, come now, Brooke, dear! Let's not be coy. It's not as if I'm asking you to divulge any trade secrets or anything. Lord! I never thought I would see the day!" Freda prattled on without waiting for a response. "How IS Ridge doing by the way? Poor man. He did look quite a fright, didn't he? Speaking of which, don't you think he's a trifle TOO old to be running around wearing his hair as long as he does? Makes him look like a 1970's reject, if you ask me. Thank goodness, he skipped the gold chains yesterday. Perhaps—hmmm ... maybe he's going through some kind of mid-life crisis. Perhaps, a younger woman is involved ... no? Dear, you know how ridiculously some of these men behave whenever they get a new chippy!" Freda simpered, ensuring that one of her well-aimed darts struck at the heart of her intended victim. If Brooke's feelings were hurt, she didn't show it as she gamely rose to the occasion. "If it's all the same to you, Freda, I would prefer not to discuss the wedding nor Ridge. I actually am more interested in you." "Me?" Freda asked, as she pointed her red talons toward her chest. "Why, yes, dear!" Brooke replied, affecting Freda's more obnoxious mannerisms. "You MUST give me the name of your milliner! It's not everyday that someone would have the nerve to walk out of her front door with a bird's nest on her head! Thank goodness the bird isn't real ... hmmm ... although it DOES look quite real from a distance. Do you think the birds would be fooled and make themselves at home in your little nest? I would imagine that cleaning bird droppings from your hair would be quite a chore, no? Although, given your hair color, I'm not sure anyone would notice." Brooke said sweetly as she put the porcelain teacup to her lips. Unbeknownst to her, there was a sudden hush as the ears of several patrons seated nearby perked up immediately at the prospect of a good catfight. Freda was thunderstruck by Brooke's comeback. People typically called her names behind her back or were otherwise rude to her, but no one ever made fun of her hats— ever! Determined to put this nouveau riche hussy in her place, she redoubled her bitchery. "I'm afraid the identity of my milliner is a trade secret I would rather not divulge, dear," Freda coolly replied. "But, I'll be more than happy to refer you to someone to sew monogrammed handkerchiefs especially for you. I imagine that you'll need them if your fiancé's behavior is true to form. I suspect it will only be a matter of time before he finds himself another chippy to replace you and the late Mrs. Forrester—although, ahem, some people may consider YOU a replacement. By the way, I've heard the most horrific rumors about Ridge and your little baby, Hope. Oy! I remember that press conference well! When Stephanie publicly exposed your pregnancy, Ridge looked like a deer caught in headlights. How DID he manage it, dear, especially while he was still married to poor Taylor?" The patrons at the next table and a few seats away gasped. Virtually every ear nearby was glued to this conversation by now. A couple of ladies, who had been fanning themselves, stopped mid-swish. Several cups clattered on fine porcelain saucers. This was getting good! The ball was in Brooke Logan's court now. Brooke inwardly fumed at the obvious putdown of herself and Hope. Check, she thought, her heart hammering wildly in her chest. Well, that was okay because she was about to checkmate this bitch! "Do you mean to tell me, Freda, that you honestly don't know HOW a man and woman could possibly conceive a child? With all the information available out there, I'm shocked—just shocked that your memory could be so fuzzy! Or, has it been THAT long since you've had a lover in your OWN bed that you simply don't recall how these things are accomplished?" Brooke asked with wide-eyed innocence as Katie held her laughter in check. A couple of the diners had no such qualms and openly chuckled at Freda's discomfiture, while others winked conspiratorially. It had been an open secret amongst their set for years that Freda actually paid young men to service her rather voracious appetites. As she got older, it had become more difficult for her to find lovers who were desperate enough to play her games even with the exorbitant amounts of money she was willing to spend. Having suffered under Freda's pen and caustic tongue, it was gratifying for these diners to see her publicly humiliated—for once. Some even envied Brooke, as her reputation had been so torn to shreds that she enjoyed a certain freedom they did not to say and do as she pleased. For her part, Freda reacted as if she had just been slapped. She quickly stood, her face red with indignation and nostrils flaring. She stared down at Brooke, her lips pursed in disgust. "Cheap!" She sniffed angrily as she turned on her heel. "Are you COMING, Gerard?" She roared at her startled photographer, who pitifully trailed along in her wake. Katie quickly stood, ready to follow Freda and slap the taste out of her mouth. Brooke placed a restraining hand on her arm. "Don’t," Brooke quietly advised. "No way am I letting that liver-lipped hag getting away with trashing you like that." Katie angrily snapped. "Ignore the bitch," Brooke suggested. "She gets her jollies from attacking people and ripping them to pieces in that rag of hers. She's going to write what she wants anyway, and I have no doubt that today's encounter will be recounted in salacious detail. Besides, if I attacked every person who's ever gossiped about or attacked me, I would be exhausted." _______________
