I'm going to run out of room if I don't start consolidating posts. So I'm going to update this post for the next couple of days.
**********************************************
Open Back to the Shady Marlin:
Ridge: You met someone in Copenhagen? ...After you broke things off with Oscar.
Bridgette: That's just it. I didn't break things off with Oscar. I mean, I thought Oscar was this incredible guy and I really thought my future was with him. But things got a little crazy with our schedules. We spent less and less time together. I was always at school or the hospital during the day, and studying at night while Oscar was building up his club.
Bridgette gets up and starts pacing.
Bridgette: I wanted to do something special for Oscar and Massimo gave me this idea to have a painting done for his office at the club. He put me in contact with an artist he knew.
Ridge: So this artist, he's the guy?
B: Yeah. At first we just talked about doing the painting. Then he asked to do a portrait of me. So I started going over to his studio on my lunch breaks.
Bridgette gets this dreamy far away look in her eyes.
R: You said he reminded you of me?
B: Yes, a younger you. He had that same creative energy and strong jaw. The same intensity in his eyes that made my knees weak.
Ridge starts to look uncomfortable. Bridgette notices and snaps back into reality.
Ridge: Did Oscar know?
B: Not at first. But one evening he stopped by our flat. That was the night I told him I was falling in love with him. I thought he felt the same way too. We ended up making love. I knew it was wrong for many reasons. But I started to realize one of the reasons that I had decided to "wait" with Oscar is that deep down I knew I didn't have the same passion for him.
R: But you still didn't break things off with Oscar?
B: Actually that night Oscar came home early. He walked in just as I was kissing Dante goodbye.
R: Dante? That's his name?
B: Yes. Oscar and I had a long talk that evening. He blamed himself, and I felt so guilty. We decided to think things over, but at the time I knew my heart was elsewhere.
R: Is that when you came home?
B: No it was several months after that.
R: So you stayed with Oscar?
B: Yes, but not because of what you think. I never saw Dante again after that night. I went to his studio the next day and it was locked up. I left him messages but never heard from him.
Ridge looks concerned for her. He goes up to Bridgette and holds her.
R: I'm sorry Bridgette. The guy must have been a real idiot. Bridgette starts to cry again.
R: Shh, it's okay now.
B: No it's not. It will never be okay.
Bridgette looks like she's about to have a total meltdown. It's obvious she's holding something back.
R: You don't still have feelings for this guys. Do you?
B: No, no, it's not that.
R: What is it then? Did something else happen?
B: No, it's okay.
Bridgette tries to collect herself and makes light of her sudden outburst.
B: I just had a run of bad luck with men. First Deacon and then Dante. I'm sorry I got so carried away.
R: Maybe you should stay away from men who's names begin with a "D".
Bridgette gives him a cross look.
B: Like Dominique?
Ridge looks like he wants to agree but says nothing.
At BRidge manor:
Brooke and Nick arrive at her house. The kids are asleep and Nick says he will go put Hope down while Brooke goes to put RJ in his room. She stops by her room and picks up her cell phone and turns it on. She sees she has 12 missed calls from Ridge. She smiles mischievously.
Brooke comes back downstairs and looks for Nick and we see him coming down the stairs .
N: Sorry, Hope woke up when I laid her down.
B: Is she sleeping now?
N: I sang her a lullaby and she went right back to dreamland.
B: I guess Bridgette will be waiting up for you.
N: I suppose so. Are you going to be all right here by yourself.
B: I'll be fine. Rick is upstairs in the study and the guards are still by the gate.
N: Okay, but if you need me..uh, I mean us. Just give us a call.
B: I will.
Brooke walks Nick to the door.
B: Thanks Nick. For everything.
N: No need to thank me. I think we all enjoyed ourselves today.
Brooke smiles: Yes we did.
She reaches up and gives him a kiss on the cheek.
B: goodnight. And tell Bridgette hello for me.
N: Goodnight Brooke.
Brooke closes the door and Nick stops just outside and touches his cheek where Brooke kissed him. He looks like he torn in his emotions.
At TRidge manor:
Taylor is outside on the terrace, leaning on the balcony, lost in thought. We hear a noise in the bushes below her. Dante steps out and looks up at Taylor in the moonlight. She doesn't see him.
Dante: What light through yonder window breaks. It is the East, and Juliette is the sun.
Taylor looks down in the darkness, squinting to see who is in the shadows.
Taylor: Who's there?
Dante steps out into the light spilling from the terrace.
Dante: Forgotten me already?
Taylor: What are you doing here? I thought I told you to stay away! (She says trying not to be heard by the children somewhere in the house.)
Dante: No, I believe you told me to get out. But nothing was mentioned about coming back.
Taylor: Oooooo, when I get my hands on you.!...
Dante smiles teasingly: Oh, I like that notion.
Just then we see flashlights scanning the grounds and we hear a voice: "I think it came from over here."
Dante bows and then blows Taylor a kiss. He turns and disappears in the shadows as two guards appear.
Guard: Is everything okay Mrs. Forrester? We thought we heard something.
Taylor: You did. It was a reporter snooping around. He went that way (pointing in the direction Dante disappeared.)
Ridge comes into the house and looks around the room. Taylor is walking in from the terrace smiling to herself.
R: At last a smiling face. What has you in such a good mood?
Taylor looks surprised: Oh Ridge, honey. I didn't hear you come in.
R: Everything okay, I thought there was some commotion outside?
Taylor: Just the guards chasing off a reporter.
Ridge: They are still hanging around? I thought sure the press conference would put a stop to that.
Taylor: Oh, I think they will be hanging around until this whole situation settles down.
Ridge: Speaking of situations I wanted to talk to you about Bridgette.
T: Bridgette? Is she okay?
R: I get the feeling there's something going on with her she's not telling us.
T: You mean with Nick?
R: No Doc, I think it goes deeper than that.
Taylor : Any clue to what it is?
R: Only that it has to do with some guy she met in Copenhagen, and.... (he pauses)
T: and what?
R: Possibly with me.
Taylor, puzzled: You? (pause) Does this have anything to do with Amber and the photographs?
Ridge looks like he's been caught.

Part 16

Brooke is sitting in her room in her robes brushing her hair with a far away look in her eyes. She's brought back to reality by a knock at the door.
B: Come in.
Rick steps into the room.
R: Everything okay?
Brooke looks like she has momentarily forgotten what could possibly be wrong, then remembers the press.
B: Sure, honey, I'm fine.
R: Just wanted to make sure before I turned in.
Brooke walks over and gives Rick a hug.
B: It's so nice that you're home.
R: I guess I could say the same.
They Both smile.
R: Oh, and by the way. A gentlemen called earlier. He had an accent. I believe his name was Donatello. He asked that you give him a call but didn't leave a number. Do you know him?
B: Yes, honey. I have some business with him. Thanks for letting me know.
R: No problem. Goodnight mom.
Rick leaves and Brooke is curious what the detective has found out.
Back at TRidge Manor:
Taylor and Ridge are in the living room. Ridge has not yet answered Taylor.
T: Ridge? What happened with Amber? Does it have anything to do with Bridgette?
Ridge turns from the fireplace to face Taylor.
R: Doc, I think you had better sit down for this one. It's a long story.
Taylor looks concerned.
On the Shady Marlin:
Nick has just returned and Bridgette is on deck staring out over the water.
N: Penny for your thoughts.
Bridgette looks startled and brushes a hand against her cheeks as if she is hiding a tear. She attempts a smile.
N: Everything okay?
Bridgette goes to give him a hug and lays her head on his shoulder.
B: Everything is fine now that you're here.
Nick holds her, but his jaw is stern and he looks like he's holding back.
There's a long moment of silence, both parties lost in their own thoughts and clinging to each other vacantly. Nick breaks the silence.
N: It's getting a little chilly out here. Why don't we go inside.
Bridgette agrees and they go into the cabin.
B: How's mom doing?
N: She's taking this whole thing like a champ. But I think it did her a world of good to get away from everything.
B: I think it would do us all some good.
Nick looks at her carefully.
N: Hard day?
B: You could say that.
N: I thought something was up.
He goes over to her and runs his hands down from her shoulders to her hands.
N: What happened?
B: Oscar's back.
N: Oscar? What's he doing back in town?
B: Your mother summoned him.
Nick looks puzzled, then angry.
N: Please tell me she isn't still trying to cause problems.
Bridgette turns away.
B: Nick, I think we need to take Massimo up on his offer to use the yacht.
Bridgette turns back to Nick.
B: I want to get married this weekend.
Nick looks at her with a serious expression.
Back at TRidge Manor:
Taylor is now sitting on the couch while Ridge paces by the fireplace.
R: So Thomas told you about Amber?
T: Yes, he did. And I can't say that I was pleased.
R: Neither was I. Did he tell you Amber nearly killed me and Bridgette?
Taylor looks shocked.
T: No he didn't. Why? Why would Amber try to harm you?
R: She was trying to convince Brooke that Bridgette and I had something going on. So she plotted to trap Bridgette and me in a mine shaft to get a photo of us.
Taylor looks confused.
T: Ridge you are not making sense. Maybe you should start from the beginning.
Ridge sighs and goes over to sit with Taylor. He takes her hands in his.
R: After we thought you had died, Bridgette stayed here to help me with the kids. She was still hurting pretty badly after her breakup with Deacon. I was there to support her and she started having feelings for me.
T: Feelings? Romantic feelings?
R: Yes. Then I found out what happened with Deacon and Brooke and I became very protective of her.
Taylor looks incredulous.
T: Protective? What aren't you telling me.
R: I don't know Doc. Things were a little crazy.
T: Oh my God, please tell me you didn't sleep with her.
R: No Doc. But there for a while I did have feelings for her too.
T: Until when? From what I gathered, the photos Thomas eluded to were recent.
R: It was only for a short time, and we both realized that it would never work. She became involved with Oscar and moved overseas. And I, as you know, married Brooke.
T: So how why would Amber suspect you would still have feelings for her.
R: I'm getting to that. When Bridgette came back home, she said it was because she still had unresolved feelings. Amber witnessed a moment between us and misinterpreted what she saw.
Taylor stands up and walks to the fireplace. She doesn't look like this is making any sense to her.
T: A moment? What kind of moment?
R: Bridgette was telling me that she was finally okay, thanks to Nick. There was a moment of closeness between us that Amber witnessed and photographed. She tried to use the photo to blackmail me into letting her date Thomas. Instead, I told Brooke about the photo.
T: And I suppose Brooke forgave you.
R: Yes, which made Amber more determined to prove there was something going on. So she arranged for us to fall into a mine shaft. She had a video camera taping us.
T: I can't believe Amber would do something like that.
Taylor is still pacing and walks back toward the fireplace shaking her head.
T: Of course, I can't believe you would take advantage of Bridgette that way either.
R: (Ridge looks surprised.) Advantage?
T: Of course. Bridgette was betrayed by her mother in the worst way. Her "feelings" for you were more of her way of subconsciously getting back at Brooke.
Taylor stops for a moment.
T: And could possibly be why she fell so quickly for Nick.
R: I think there's more to it. Something happened to her in Copenhagen she's not telling anyone.
T: You mean the guy she met?
R: Yes. I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's something more to this story.
Taylor puzzles over this a moment.
T: So this man hurt her and it brought back unresolved feelings for you?
R (looks embarrassed): She said this guy reminded her of me.
Taylor cocks her head sideways and looks at Ridge.
T: Really? If that's true, then I'm afraid ...(she pauses)
R: Afraid of what?
T: Well let's just say, the last thing she should be doing is jumping right into a marriage with Nick.
Ridge looks on in total agreement.
I'm going to run out of room if I don't start consolidating posts. So I'm going to update this post for the next couple of days.
